The corporate space has witnessed heightened oversight through regulations seeking better governance for both public and private institutions. This was the key takeaway from the Cytonn Corporate Governance Ranking Report workshop held on Monday, August 28th, 2017. The workshop was well attended, it had key stakeholders from major sectors that drive industry growth, industry regulators and industry associations. Discussions were centered around the expectations for corporate governance industry-wide and Corporate Governance ranking metrics.

The workshop also offered a platform for the players to raise issues and concerns about the report that Cytonn Investments has taken a lead on since launching it two years ago.

Speaking during the workshop, Elizabeth N. Nkukuu, Chief Investments Officer, Cytonn Investments emphasized and acknowledged the need for dialogue to arrive at an industry-wide accepted methodology for measuring the level of Corporate Governance in firms. “Our aim is to transform the focus on Corporate Governance from a Cytonn initiative to an industry initiative” Elizabeth noted. “We are also willing to hand over this mantle to the right player to drive this initiative as fellow participants in the process as well” she added.
