Cytonn Foundation continued its 5th week of the Cytonn e-Hub season 2 training on the 23rd of September, 2017. The topic of discussion was on the legal aspects to consider when starting and running a business. Ms. Doreen Onwonga, the Legal Associate for Cytonn Investments, led the discussions focusing on the various enterprises operated by participants in the room.

Among key talking points in the session were the basic legal requirements set up by the government for startups, and the beneficial legal partnerships for business owners. A number of the entrepreneurs had major interests on legal risks facing their businesses and how to avoid them. They noted that the laws and legislation keep changing across all jurisdictions and keeping up has become a task.

Participants were also interested in the business name registration process as most of them had faced challenges in the process.

Drawing lessons from Cytonn’s success story, Ms. Patricia Wanjama, who is the Head of Legal and Company Secretary, challenged entrepreneurs to think of themselves and their interests the least if they would like to court success.

Cytonn eHub Season 2 continues on Saturday 30th September 2017, with Mr. Augustine Matata and Mr. Samuel Ng’anga both Senior Financial Associates at Cytonn Investments taking participants through the topic, ‘Understanding and preparing financials for your business’.
